Reunion 2010 - Reservation Information
|
Registration -
If you are reserving the 4 night or 3 night package, registration is included. Banquet only is $83 per person, includes Registration fee. Registration only is $35 per person, does not included room or meals. Please include a sheet of paper with everyone's name, city, state & zip code, and relationship to you that you are registering! If you want a badge for someone, we ask that you pay the registration fee. Thank you.

Cancellation Fee -
A $35per person fee will be deducted from any refunds due you AFTER the reunion. Refunds CANNOT be made during the reunion. Tours are not refundable. "No Shows" will be charged $127 or one night’s room charge plus registration fees.
You must inform PT Boats, Inc. -- NOT the hotel, if you cancel. If you cancel Meals are ONLY refundable if you cancel before June 1, 2010.
The hotel charges early checkout fee of approximately $121 except for emergencies. A small percentage has been added to room and meal prices to help offset the reunion costs. Please initial that you have read and understand these terms.

Awards Banquet Only -
Saturday, June 28, 2008 at 6:00 pm. $83.00 per person ( before March 15, 2008, when price increase ) and includes wine reception. NO HOTEL ROOM. You must pay a registration fee in addition to reserving your Banquet tickets. See Registration block above. Include a separate sheet with each person's name, city, state, zip, and relationship to you that you are purchasing Banquet tickets.

Optional Tours - not included in any package:
EARLY BIRD TOUR, July 1 Thursday optional tour: Groton CT to see USS Nautilus and Museum, the Submarine Force Museum, lunch and Historic Mystic Seaport. USS Nautilus was authorized by Congress in July 1951. Her keel was laid by President Harry S Truman at the Electric Boat Shipyard (Elco was part of Electric Boat) in Groton June 14, 1952. The Submarine Museum maintains the world's finest collection of sub artifacts with more than 33,000 artifacts. In Seaport be prepared for the nation's leading maritime museum where you can climb aboard tall ships or watch a working preservation shipyard. It was founded in 1929. Includes lunch at Seaman's Inne.
Depart hotel 9:00. Return 3:00.
Price: $65 per person includes admissions and gratuities.
FRIDAY TOUR, July 2 Friday optional tour: Visit Melville. A visit to Melville is where many PT men trained; it's located in Portsmouth RI on Narragansett Bay. The location is now New England Boatworks. In Newport tour the Breakers mansion which epitomizes the Gilded Age. A 12:30 buffet lunch at Atlantic Beach Club followed by more of the Newport drive.
Depart 9:00. Return 4:30.
Price: $59 per person includes admissions and gratuities.
SUNDAY TOUR, July 4 Sunday optional tour: Lunch at White's of Westport in Massachusetts and onto Battleship Cove where the Memorial Service will be held aboard USS Massachusetts at 2:30.
Depart Hotel: 10:30, for lunch
Depart Lunch: 11:15, For Battleship Cove
Depart Battleship: 5:15, for hotel (return approximately 6:00.)
Price: $41 per person, transportation includes a driver gratuity.
The Battleship is not handicap accessible. You must board by ascending a gangplank. The steepness of the gangplank depends on the tide so it can be very steep.
Restrooms aboard ship are accessible only through hatches where you must step over the bulkhead. Wheelchairs would have to be folded and passed through the hatch which means anyone in a wheelchair would need assistance.
There will be seating on the deck of the Battleship for the Memorial Service. Seats will be in the open.
A little time is being allowed for you to visit the PT Museum on the second deck of the Battleship and to see PT 796 and PT 617 in Newberry Hall. But we must board the buses at 5:15 to give us time to get back to the hotel for dinner Sunday evening.
There is a handicap restroom just outside the Gift Shop but it is the only one at Battleship Cove.
Going aboard our two restored PTs is possible; however, please remember that great caution must be exercised because the ladders are tricky and there are plenty of places to bang your head. You should hold onto young children at all times if you want to try and take them aboard. People have fallen off. Likewise Splinters will need to keep an eye on their parents; the companionways are narrow and getting below is difficult for many folks. Time will be limited quite also.
Splinters will be needed to assist folks up and down the Battleship gangplank and to view PTs 617 and 796.
