- Commissioned: 26,February 1943 - LCDR Russell H. Smith
- Decommissioned: 26,November 1945 - LT John V. McElroy USNR
- PT Boats: Higgins 78' PT's 71,72,213-224,235,241,242,295-301
- Assigned To: Aleutians and Southwest Pacific
- Postscript: The squadron saw action in Dutch New Guinea, Philippines and Borneo waters. Squadron 16 was awarded the Navy Commendation for action at Mindoro from Dec 15 to 19, 1944.

- Decommissioned: 19,November 1945 - LT James F. Hill USNR
- PT Boats: Higgins 78' PT's 71,72, 225-234
- Assigned To: Hawaii, the Marshalls and then Southwest Pacific
- Postscript: The squadron was first assigned to the Hawaiian Sea Frontier, then transferred to the Southwest Pacific were it saw action in the Philippine waters. PT's 227 and 230 of Squadron 13 was awarded the Navy Unit Commendation for action at Mindoro from Dec 15 to 19, 1944.

- Decommissioned: 1,November 1945 - LT Raymond S. Patton USNR
- PT Boats: ELco 80' PT's 103-105,147,148,362-367, Canadian Power Boat 70' PT's 368-371.
- Assigned To: Southwest Pacific
- Postscript: The squadron was originally scheduled to be four boat squadron for the Caribbean Sea Frontier, utilizing the four 70' "Scott-Paine" designed boats built in Canada. These boats were obtain by reverse lend-lease from the Dutch Government, and converted to Elco fittings. Also PT's 362-367 were fabricated by Elco but assembled by Harbor Boat Building in California, they were identical to the Elco 80'. While operating in the Southwest Pacific, the squadron saw action in the New Guinea, Admiralties and Halmaheras waters.

- PT Boats: Higgins 78' PT's 235-244
- Assigned To: South Pacific
- Postscript: The squadron was assigned to the South Pacific and saw action at Vella Lavella, Treasury, and Green. The squadron was later decommissioned and its boats distributed to replenish other squadrons.
